My 3 Thoughts For A Peaceful Deep Sleep

  • I have a short routine  I go through every night before I go to sleep that results in me getting a great peaceful and restful sleep.

The last thing I do before I drift off to sleep is reflect on the day and think about 3 great things that happened that day. It could be a great meeting I had, a great workout, a great dinner with Barb, time with the kids etc. I find this is a great thing to do before sleep as I  go to sleep thinking about the great things that happened that day and take my mind off any challenges. Sometimes after a difficult day we tend to dwell on all the negative things that happened and I find this is a great way to shift my mind into a positive frame.

I have also used this same technique(Positive Focus) to start off staff meetings, put my children to bed when they were younger and simply shift from any negative thoughts to positive thoughts.

As you are reading this, think about 3  great things that have happened today and write them down and it  will immediately shift your attitude.

Try this every night before bed for 1 month and you will be having great, peaceful  and restful sleeps in no time.

  1. I practice this technique too and find it very helpful. I have passed it along to my kids who sometimes can’t sleep before exams. It is good advice. Thanks, ….Ann

  2. Good advice, Kevin. A full night’s rest on a regular basis is so important for your health.

I use a similar technique throughout the day – moments of gratitude for the smallest of things that show up in my day – the stuff that we are inclined to take for granted.

Keep sharing and inspiring us, Kev!

  3. Hi Kevin …. Another great story. Sometimes we don’t count our blessings.
I am glad you are sharing your personal experiences.
I use your technique myself, but usually dose off before I have finished remembering my positive experiences.
