Life Is Fleeting – Enjoy Every Day

Life Is Fleeting – Enjoy Every Single Day

On a quick trip to Calgary last weekend, I was reminded of how quick Life passes by and how important is it to be present and enjoy every single day.
I had a business meeting in Calgary on Friday so I thought it would be great to spend Friday night and Saturday with Matt as Matt is finishing off his last year of business at University of Calgary.
Whenever Barb and I visit Calgary, we always get a great feeling as we had a fantastic few years there when our children were young and made a lot of life long friends.
We moved to Calgary in our London Life days as I was asked to lead Southern Alberta for London Life Employee Benefits in 1994 (23 years ago) and we subsequently moved back East in 1996.
My Early Morning Workout at the Eau Claire Y
After seeing Matt for dinner on Friday night, I woke up early Saturday morning and went for an early morning swim workout at our old stomping ground- the Eau Claire YMCA. I had a great swim workout and was reminded of all the great times we had there as a family more than 21 years ago. One of our favourite things to do on weekends when the kids were young was to take them to the Y on Saturday mornings. We would generally go for a workout while the kids went in the Nursery (ages 5 and 2), then we would take them swimming, swim lessons or they would take part in the YMCA programs. After our visit to they Y we would typically   go for lunch beside the Y at Joey Tomatoes.
As I wondered back into the Y at 6:00 a.m. for my early morning swim workout, I couldn’t help but think that it just seemed like a few years ago that we did that. Matt was born in Calgary in 1994 and it seems like it was just yesterday that we would do those things with the kids.
Now, 23 years later, Matt is finishing his degree and instead of me taking him to the Y nursery and for a swim in the kids pool, he is taking me to his Cross Fit gym for his crazy hard workout. We had a great workout at his Cross Fit gym – Optimum Performance Training and I must say that these were amongst the fittest people that I have ever worked out with. Every athlete was full on and engaged is some of the most intense workout I have seen.
Enjoy The Journey
My point of sharing this is that life is fleeting and it passes by in a heartbeat. I can’t get over the fact that we haven’t lived in Calgary for over 21 years as it  seems like yesterday.
We never know when our time is up on the amazing Earth or this amazing life so please ensure you enjoy every single day and every moment to the fullest. As I have written in a previous blog, It is important to Enjoy the Journey as much as the destination. If you missed this blog  you can access it here:http://kevinbradyhealth.ca/enjoy-the-journey/
We also need to ensure we look after our body that we have been given to the best of our ability so that we can enjoy life to its fullest.
Have a  great Love Life day, Kev

  1. Thanks Kevin for the great story. It brings back memories of me taking the bus from Toronto to Calgary and finding Tim at the gate in Calgary with a bouquet of red roses for grandma, how lovely.

I admire the work which you put into composing your blogs. I’m sure the readers all enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks. Marge
