Protecting Our Families Health In Return To School/Work During Covid
There has been a significant increase in all Mental Health Issues over the the last 6 months during Covid. In fact, CTV news recently reported that increase in Anxiety amongst Canadians during Covid has quadrupled!
As our families return to daycare, schools and business’s start to open up, it is even more important to take the necessary steps to protect the health of our families and co workers. In today’s blog I thought it was prudent to share the things that you can do today to protect the health of you, your families and co workers as society “opens up” again.
Why Do I Write My Blog?
One of the questions I get asked regularly is why I write my blog? It is very simple, I write my blog to help as many people as I can along their own journey towards better health. As you know, I typically share my personal experiences along my own health journey in the hope that I can in some small way help my readers.
Why Advica Health?
The reason we started our company – Advica Health, was for exactly the same reason – to help people and business’s with their health and help them source the best health solutions locally and in the world in order to help them have the very best health outcomes.
As you likely know, I have never used my personal blog (Kevinbradyhealth.ca) to promote my business – Advica Health (Advicahealth.com). However today I felt it was my duty and obligation to outline the services that our company provides as many of these services will help you protect you and your families health in your return to work/school or continue to work from home.
I think it is safe to say that the last thing any of us want to do right now is unnecessarily visit a hospital or walk in clinic in order to access health care. As we return to work, this in itself adds stress and anxiety as we want to do everything to avoid contracting Covid and bringing it home to our families.
Our program provides 24 hour/7 day a week access to health professionals in a matter of minutes in order to access the best health solutions locally and in the world. This would be from the most basic health needs such as diagnosis or ordering a prescription to very complex health conditions such as Cardiovascular/ Cancers or Disease.
If you need any of our services, please feel free to send me a personal email or go into our web sight at Advicahealth.com. I will also say that all of these services are available right now and are surprisingly very inexpensive. Also these services are all virtual so you can access them from the comfort of your home over your phone or computer in a matter of seconds.
Below I have outlined the “Best Practices’ that individuals and companies are putting in place to protect the health of their families. The services that I would encourage you to investigate for your and your family as they return to work and or school are as follows:
1.Virtual Health (24/7)
Virtual Health allows you to talk to a nurse or a medical professional in a matter of seconds from the comfort of your home for diagnosis of health conditions and receive treatment including prescriptions. This is all done virtually over your mobile device or computer and is available 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. The benefit of this service is that is is quick and efficient and will prevent you and your family from having to make an unnecessary visit a Dr.’s office, Walk In Clinic or Hospital.
2.Medical Concierge/Health Navigation
When cases are more complex requiring ongoing treatment, specialist appointments, and imaging such as C.T. scans and MRI’s then Health Navigation comes into play. This is where our Health Navigation nurses help you navigate the best health solutions and provide medical concierge services to ensure you get the best treatment on a timely basis.
3.Mental Health Navigation
There has been a drastic increase in all Mental health issues during Covid and will likely continue into the future. The real issue becomes getting connected with a Mental Health professional (Psychiatrist, Social Worker,) on a timely basis. This service allows you or any of your family members to reach out to a Mental Health Navigator virtually (over your phone or computer) and connect with them on a timely basis. This service also can provide a second opinion on mental health issues as well as a review of an individuals current treatment protocol.
4.Second opinion
One of the questions I get asked quite frequently is “When should I get a Second Opinion?” My belief is that one should get a second opinion in most cases to ensure diagnosis and treatment are on the right path. The second opinions that we have conducted with our customers would indicate that 17% of the time there is a misdiagnosis (not a correct diagnosis) and 33% of the time there is a change of treatment suggested. This means that over 50% of the time there is either a change in diagnosis or a change in treatment suggested. The best part of this program is that through a simple signature of consent, everything is handled virtually including the gathering of all records, the second opinion report and review of the report with the medical professional team.
5.Covid Monitoring and Testing
As many of us return to our workplaces and schools, many would like to have quick access to Covid testing. There are alternatives available for Covid testing and a number of these tests can be done from the comfort of your home, your office or workplace. Many companies have ordered these tests for their employees to ensure that their workplaces are safe and remain safe. As an alternative, you can take advantage of individual testing when someone thinks they may have been exposed to Covid or is simply not feeling well and is worried that they may have it.
Summary
All of the above services will protect you, your family and your co workers as we return to work, offices or schools or continue to work from home. I would recommend that you take advantage of these services in order to protect you and your families. As mentioned, all of these services are available right now in the marketplace and can easily be put in place for you.
If I can help in any way or you need any further information on any of these options, please feel free to reach out to me personally at my personal email address below and I will respond.
Wishing you and your family all the best in health as things start to re-open once again.
