Quoted from my first Blog two years ago:
“My goal is to share my thoughts, what I have learned to help you shortcut your quest towards better health. I want to be clear…by no means am I perfect, however, my goal is to continue to improve my Health so I can lead (and help you lead) a long, healthy and happy Life.
In short, I want to share what I did personally to get my Blood tests in order and improve my health in the hopes that it may help you.
You have been selected to participate in this Blog and I truly hope you enjoy it and will be coming to you in a few months to get your feedback. Please feel free to pass this on to family, friends or anyone else you think may benefit by this blog.
Yours in good health, Kev”
It is hard to believe that I set up my initial blog almost 2 years ago and since then I have written a blog almost every single week. What amazes me as I reflect on this is that I would actually have that much material. The fact of the matter is I likely have over 50 documented Health and Wellness topics to blog about and my biggest decision every week is not what I am going to write about but rather what topic I am going to choose. Health is such a complex topic that fascinates me and motivates me and I don’t think I will ever run out of topics to share.
How Is My Diary Going?
It was actually my daughter Lauren that gave me the push to put out my first blog. I excitedly would share with her and the other kids almost weekly what my Blog topic was about as I had been writing it for some time however not publishing it.
One week Lauren asked me “How is your diary going”? I asked her what she meant and she responded that all I am doing is writing a “diary” as I am the only one that sees it!
I had hesitation in releasing my blog out to the world in that I was afraid of what people would think. What is Brady doing? Why is he doing this? Does he know what he is talking about? Is he still at his current job?
It was Lauren that gave me the push and courage to publish the blog. It is amazing what you learn from your children but I must say it was Lauren that gave me the courage to pull the trigger and publish the blog. So a huge thank you to my Barb and our great children, Tim, Matt and Lauren who have always encouraged me on this journey.
Why did I Blog?
I set up my blog for one simple reason – to help and assist people on their own personal health and spiritual journey through life.
I have had my own health challenges over the years and although I am not a certified professional, I do consider myself an expert in health, nutrition and fitness due to the countless thousands of hours I have spent reading, listening, researching and training in the Health world. In addition though my various sports and dedicated training for the National and World Triathlon championships the last 5 years, I feel I am very knowledgeable from a training and nutrition standpoint.
Since I was nervous about pulling the trigger and sending my blog out, I initially sent it out to just a few close friends in order to test it and see if I could make a small difference in their lives from a health standpoint. I also wanted to send it out to a small group so that I could obtain feedback and input for future blogs.
Blog Metrics are off the chart!
Needless to say, I was overwhelmed by the response and the exponential growth of the Blog since it was first introduced.
The company that helped set up our format and website for KevinBradyHealth (OneMotion) is continually commenting on how off the charts our growth, hits and time spent on the blog is in comparison to the market. Many of you have obviously found value in my blog as it keeps growing simply by subscribers sending it out to others.
I am continually surprised when I run into strangers that obviously read my blog and they comment on it or certain parts that have been beneficial to them.
I often get comments such as: “ I have lemon juice every morning because of you” or “I have a morning shake because of your blog”, or “I follow your pre-bedtime routine in order to have a great sleep”. I must say these comments are always music to my ears as I know I am helping people with their own health journey.
Time to Refresh Kevinbradyhealth
After writing my Health blog for two years, OneMotion encouraged me to refresh and renew my blog look and feel as well as our website.
I am being asked to speak on the topic of Health at different venues across the country and we felt it would be a good idea to redo KevinBradyHealth as I am getting many more readers and subscribers to my Blog.
Kev’s Way – Book Published
I would like do a special shout out to Barbs mother – Marge as she gave me one of the very nicest and most thoughtful Christmas gifts that I have ever received. Marge along with her caregiver KC, reformatted all of my blogs and published and printed them all in a full book called Kev’s Way.
I was overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and all the work that went into this and I will cherish it forever. A special shout-out to our daughter Lauren that designed the amazing cover that I think represents me – Mountains, Sun and Cycling. I would also like to thank great friends Art Kennedy, Russ Jackson and Kris Mystery who all wrote very complimentary write-ups in the book. For those that read my blog regularly, you will know that Barbs mom is 100% blind and somehow coordinated and arranged this entire project which I find amazing. Thanks again so much Marge. XO. For those that missed my blog on Barbs Mom and her positive attitude called Blind Happiness.
Thank You
I would like to say a huge sincere thank you to each of you that have continued to read my blog, shared it with others and supported it. Every week I get numerous emails from many of you and that gives me the feedback and encouragement to keep it going. So a huge thank you to each of you.
I also wanted to say a huge thanks to Josh Hagan and his team at OneMotion. They have been great partners and have helped guide me through this entire process.
Hope You Enjoy
I hope that you enjoy the new look and format and I would be interested in any comments you may have.
I do certainly hope that I can personally help you on your health and life journey based on things I have learned over the years.
Please feel free to pass my blog address or information on to anyone you feel may benefit from the blog.
Yours in great health, Kev
